Where it all began, a garden loft shed we converted into a sewing shop so I no longer had to sew out of a corner of my bedroom. I used the "Sewing Shack " for almost 4 years until I was bursting at the seams and moved to a location in Silver Lake. I spent almost 2 years in that location before moving to a new building. With the use of some extra unused space and the encouragement from my loyal Facebook followers we started selling wedding dresses and formals by consignment. Customers bring us dresses tell us how much they are ready to sell them for and we market and display them with dressing rooms and professional fittings available for our clients to purchase with confidence. It took off like crazy!!
After reopening I was only allowed to be open by appointment due to the lack of social distancing space. With the encouragement from my husband I made the leap to move to our fourth location in the Window Design office building at 9939 NW US HWY 24. It has been a whirlwind, as we finished out 3500sf of showroom space, fitting rooms a bridal suite with private dressing room and the ability to offer Menswear including Tuxedo rental and sales. Sewing Shack is very much a family oriented business as my oldest daughter is my store manager allowing me to continue the alterations end of the business. My grandkids can often be found hanging out at grandmas shop which I just love. I am beyond thrilled and appreciative of all the support from my family and loyal clients and followers who have been with me through all my moves.
